In an evening of "where did that come from?" and "where did it go?", the Thursday night women's softball team played two playoff games last night. The first half of the season ended with three of our teams all tying for first place, while in the second half, only two teams tied for first (oops, not us.)
The first game, we remembered how to hit, catch and throw, and mercied the other team 15-0. We then hung around and waited for game 2 to start against the other team. This is where the "where did it go?" comes in to play, as we lost. I can't call it a close game, but we didn't get blown out. I'm not sure what place that puts us in for the season, 2nd or 3rd? Either way, Thursday night softball is done now until August. August, really? Yes, August. There is a short summer league which we choose not to play in so all the moms on the team can hang out with their kids on summer break. Plus, with no softball, I'll be absolutely out of excuses for not getting all my runs in before the half-marathon in September.
The Wednesday coed team is still in the playoffs. "Where's Midnight" won this past Wednesday night, and will play next week for the ever-coveted first place t-shirt, and the right to gloat until next season. Good luck boys and girls!
