Beer Does Taste Better in Mexico

I don't know what it is about Mexico, but the beer definitely tastes better there. Maybe it's because of the beach, the sun, the sand, the fact that in some parts you are scared to drink the water...but it just tastes better. The Comer clan of Mom, Jason, and Dad, plus Kyle and I headed out to Cabo San Lucas for a week of fun in the sun over Memorial Day weekend. We stayed and played at both the Villa del Palmar and Villa del Arco.

We got to swim with Frida the dolphin. I think she liked Kyle a bit too much if you know what I mean... She does give good kisses though.

Our first day at the beach, and we played all day. We layed on the beach in lounge chairs until we were much too hot. That is right when the drink guys coming running over to ask if you'd like a beer or margarita. "Um, yes please." Then all five of us jumped into the ocean to cool off. Two hours later, and the ocean hadn't thrown us out yet. We did come out eventually, when our fingers were pruny and our tummies were hungry. The water was comfortable, and if you looked close enough in the waves, you could see little fish jumping out of the water. Wait! That means there are bigger fish chasing them. Okay, don't look in the water then.

Here is a picture of Kyle and I after our first day at the beach. We are all tuckered out.

We went on a snorkeling trip out to sea. Kyle was in pure vacation form and attire. He also became quasi-National Geographic and took pictures of "the arch", which is what the area is known for. There is a beach under those waves, but I wouldn't want to sit there in my lawn chair all day.

Jason was the smart one. He bought a hat. He bought a hat and wore it all week. We called him the Austrailian cowboy. He is the only one who didn't come home sunburned. Most nights, we took a taxi into town and walked around the marina. There are restaurants, shopping, and all kinds of things to see and eat. There are also nice people selling drinks that make you goofy.

Here are Jason and Mom in the marina. Jason, Kyle and Dad pose for the "boys only" shot.

Here's Jason in his hat again. He's a cutie. We also did a parasailing trip where they attach you to a mini-parachute and pull you from behind a boat. If you haven't done this, you only need to do it once. This was my third time, and the thrill is gone. Kyle and Jason also rented jet skis and zoomed around the bay. When all was said and done, I stayed where you see me above - on the beach, in a chair, in the shade, looking over my toes into the ocean. It was a wonderful trip and I cannot wait to go back.
