My little brother is not so little anymore!!
Last weekend I flew out to CA to hang out with Mom and Jason and wish Jason the very bestest happy birthday! For the actual celebration portion of the visit, Mom, Jason and I headed out to the lovely Crown and Anchor to hang out with Jason and his friends.
The night started out with...shots! Mom too! Tequila shots for everyone. Well, not everyone. I do not do tequila shots as tequila and I are not friends. I truly think I am allergic to tequila as I tend to get sick very soon after the first shot. I stuck with lemon drops for the night.
The best part of the evening was when I decided to start writing down quotes from people at the table. Here are three of my favorites:
Mom: After Mandi announcing that she and tequila are not friends..."Tequila and I get along just fine!"
Jason: As Mom is pinning the "Kiss me, it's my birthday" button on Jason's shirt before we left for the Crown..."Mom, I am going out in PUBLIC."
Mike: This just made me laugh, and it has happened to all of us at one point or another. Bonus points if you know what movie Mike is talking about..."I was confused. For the longest time I thought I liked Natalie Portman, but it turned out I really liked Keira Knightley."
Birthday boy smiling and Mandi making faces.
Branden came to show us kids how to have a good time. He even brought Jason "das boot", which the Crown was kind enough to fill for him!
Smile for the camera!
After the fun, everyone came back to the house for cake and ice cream! Some had cake and coffee instead...I wonder why?
The next day, Mom, Jason and I went for birthday pedicures! Nothing says "happy birthday" like clean feet and sparkling toes.
You can't do a trip to visit Mom and Jason without visiting Topper's too! Salad and pizza for everyone! And yes, the pizza was as good as I remembered it.
I had a great time visiting Mom and Jason. I am sad the trip was just a short weekend, but thankful to see the smiling faces and give love and hugs. All in all, I say Jason had a great birthday.
In closing Jason, I leave you with a little big sister advice.
The most important thing in life is to be yourself...
Unless you can be Batman. Always be Batman!!
Until we meet again! Love you lots.
