Wicked

Yesterday I went with Mom and Kyle's mom, Ellen, down to the lovely Pantages theatre to see the musical WICKED. It was amazing.

First, the fact that the three of us even arrived in the parking lot within 20 minutes of each other is an accomplishment in itself, seeing as Ellen drove from Palm Springs and Mom and I drove out from Thousand Oaks. We had dinner at the Hollywood and Vine restaurant, right on the corner of, you guessed it, Hollywood and Vine. We had time to sit and relax, take in the scenery, absorb a little atmosphere, and have a nice girls' night out dinner. Did we sit and eat salads for dinner? Heck no. Our table consumed a wonderful amount of sweet potato frites (pronounced freets, just in case you want to order them), followed by pork chops, filet mignon, and an angus burger. Of course no meal is complete with "The Killer" chocolate cake.

Wicked was wonderful. Did you read the book? It doesn't matter too much, as the play does not follow the book exactly anyway. As long as you know the story of Oz, you're all set. There are wonderful costumes, glorious dancing and backgrounds, and singing that beats right into the middle of your chest. Wicked will be running for the next two years they said, so go get your ticket now. Have fun!
