I wanted to share my new toy with you. It seems like I have quite a few toys in the house, but this one is for the car. I like to go on car rides with Mandi to the park, but I don't like to sit still and I can't see out the window, and I usually wind up on Mandi's lap trying to see by putting my feet on the steering wheel. She says this is not helpful and that I have to sit in my own seat, plus, it is not safe for me to just bounce around in the car. Because of all that, I give you...my new car seat!
This is my new car seat. I helped Mandi put it together in the kitchen, and then she let me play in it to make sure I liked it. She even gave me treats to jump up and sit in it. It has a pillow in the bottom that feels soft to sit and lay down on.
Once she put the car seat in the car, I was ready to go! The car seat buckles into the car the same way a child's seat does (or so I'm told, I've never seen a child riding around in a padded box seat). I wear my special safety harness for the car, and my harness hooks into the clip in my car seat. Now I can see outside the window and look at all the kids on school buses, and I don't have to bother Mandi as she drives me around town. I sit in the back, where all cool puppies sit. None of this front-seat business for me! I don't whine or cry, because I know we are going to the park, or somewhere else fun, and I can't wait to get there.
Here's another picture of me in my new seat. Every now and then I lean over and check out the traffic (why aren't we at the park yet?) and make sure Mandi is going the right way. I am on a mission to check out all the fun parks in the area. This weekend, Mandi and I went to Conway Park in Creve Coeur. This park is great for people and dogs. It has a 1 mile walkway around the park, with a great fountain and lake in the middle - more geese for me to play with - and it even has a dog park! I am not big enough to play at the dog park yet, but I'm told when I am 6 months old we can go back and play. Even so, we had a great time walking around the park and checking out all the good smells. I was so excited I ran everywhere, back and forth, forth and back. I must have turned that mile loop into at least 2 miles with all my sniffing around. It was so much fun.
When we got back to the car, I was so tired. I even asked to be carried half way back and Mandi told me, "no way, walk the whole way back." I was so tired I couldn't even sleep. My new car seat was so comfy, I just laid there and stared at the ceiling.
When we got home, Mandi tried to wake me up to go inside, but I was too sleepy. I tried to tell her that the sun was in my eyes and that I could sleep better if she would move the car, but she didn't buy it. She picked me up and took me back in the house for a snack.
Whew! After all that work and playing at the park, I was all tuckered out. I snuggled up in my bed for my afternoon nap and dreamt about my next trip to the park. See you then!
