Cancun, Thanksgiving, Notre Dame and a Party!

Whew! We've had a busy couple of weeks. Let's see if we can catch up...

In the beginning of November, Kyle and I took some time off work to vacation in Cancun. We had never been to the east side before, only to Cabo last June. We stayed at the all-inclusive RIU Palace Americas hotel. Our favorite adventure for the week we were there was the Snorkel Tour. We went on a full-day tour of underground caves just inland from the ocean. This was not your average snorkeling - it required a life jacket, a flashlight, and a bag of nerves to go with it. We went deep into caves, room by room, until the sunlight died out and you had to hold your breath and go underwater to get to the next room in the cave. We admired the fish while swimming around the stalagmites (mighty to stand up from the floor), and kept clear of the stalactites (they hold on tight to the ceiling) while looking up at the bats on the ceiling. It was awesome. To see more fun pictures of Cancun, click here.

We spent Thanksgiving at my parents' house, playing Shanghai Rummy with Grandpa, eating turkey, and watching football. We ate way too much food and had a fabulous time with the family. On Friday after Thanksgiving, we drove up to Aunt Bonnie's house in San Carlos. Why you ask? Because Mom was very nice to us and got us tickets to watch the Notre Dame at Stanford game! Above is a picture of myself, Kyle, and Aunt Bonnie at the game. Aunt Bonnie goes to every Stanford home game and partakes in a mean tailgate party, and she was nice enough to let us join her. We got to her house Friday night, hung out and had dinner, and got the food ready for the tailgate on Saturday. We hit the parking lot at 9am and didn't stop until 8pm that night. The game was super fun - Notre Dame won! The tailgate was just as amazing. We got to meet all of Bonnie's friends, and enjoyed the fanciest tailgate I have ever seen in my entire life. Any time a tailgate involves linens, real utensils, and wine at 9am, you know you're in a whole new realm. To check out all the pictures from the game and tailgate, click here.

Thanks Bonnie! We had such a blast.

The Saturday after that was Kyle's company holiday party. Now, this isn't just a holiday party. This is everyone who works for the company in Southern California, plus a date. It was HUGE and held at the Millennium Biltmore hotel in downtown L.A.. Everyone gets dressed up and has a great time. Beer, wine, soda and water flow freely, and there is more than enough food for twice as many people. This year, we stayed at The Standard, so we could check out the rooftop bar when the party was over. The hotel in itself was a trip, and made the night all that more fun. It is always great to get dressed up and hang out with friends we love. Click here to see more pictures from that night, and the crazy hotel we stayed at.

I hope everyone can slow down enough to enjoy the holidays with their friends and family. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday and happy new year!
