Whilst reading through the Outlander series, I have come across many new favorite quotes to keep and share forever. Here are two of my absolute favorites.
"When the day shall come, that we do part," he said softly, and turned to look at me, "if my last words are not 'I love you' --ye'll ken it was because I didna have time."
"So long as my body lives, and yours - we are one flesh. And when my body shall cease, my soul will still be yours...forever."
by Diana Gabaldon
Like battle wound scars on a warrior, wrinkles are just the reminders of having laughter in your life. Here's to the many future laughter scars!

Go Bayou!
Braving the grueling cold, blustery wind, grinding dirt in the air, a delay of game, a different field to play on and a sharp decline in helpful beverages, our women's Bayou team won the championship game last night, finally acquiring the ever-coveted long-sleeved t-shirt!
Our 9:00pm game did not start until well past 9:30, thanks in part to the 6:30 game running long, and the need to wait to see who won the 7:45 game to see who we then played at 9:00pm. Fighting conditions not meant to play softball in - dirt storms, winds that change the pitch flight of the ball, outfield gopher holes, and an umpire who doesn't always pay attention (not to mention a cranky team of ladies who would much rather be home in their jammies after 10:00) - our Bayou team came out the winner! Thanks to Fast Tina for bringing us all magic socks. We dazzled the other team with our navy blue socks with white stripes, orange solid, and orange socks with white stripes. We also got our shipment of new cleats in! Orange and white cleats here we come! It was a great ending to a tiring evening, but well worth it. Makes me look forward to next season even more!
I even wore my new t-shirt to work today, as well as the comfy orange socks with white stripes, just for fun. Congratulations ladies!

Succumbing to the Holiday Spirit

After nearly 5 years of marriage, Kyle and I finally decided to decorate for the holidays and put up a Christmas tree. This is our first Christmas tree EVER, in the history that is Mandi and Kyle.
Yes, the tree is up early, but do not fret, for it is fake. It came with beautiful white lights already on it (bonus for Kyle) and cute little pine cones. We even found our one box of Christmas decorations in the garage, and put up what little ornaments we had on the tree. Now we just have to get the remaining unique ornaments for us kids from mom's house. It does make our little condo feel a bit more like home with the tree lights on at night. We even made our door wreath ourselves. We can be very creative given time, a hot glue gun, and about $10 worth of goodies from Lowe's and Target - and we didn't even fight or argue about who got to do what.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
